E Da Old Tymer

Hello and thanks for visiting.  I’m E Da Old Tymer, but you can just call me E.  I know the internet has plenty of places for you to go for content so if you’re here, hopefully it is because you’re being entertained and enjoy the content that is presented here. 

I initially decided to write and create content mainly because I noticed that there is a lot of content creators who, for one reason or another, call themselves informative or news outlets, yet seem to advance some sort of biased opinion or agenda.  I wanted to create content that was unbiased and leaned heavily on concrete facts and information (I’m looking at you in the Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant hate sections).  I also wanted to create content on various other topics that I enjoy and hoped to share them.  With that said, here is some of what is in the works for this site.

Sports

This site will initially be heavy with sports content.  And the reason for that is simple…I’m a huge Laker fan and overall basketball junkie.  Back in 2012, I had the pleasure of writing articles for a fan blog called “Laker Nation” and enjoyed every minute of it.  I’m hoping to entertain other fans with my takes on the Lakers and the sport of basketball in general.  Content will not be exclusive to just the Lakers however, as I will also provide opinion-based articles on topics such as LeBron James’ influence in the current NBA climate, the never-ending debate on the greatest of all time, and report on developing news.  I’ll also cover other sports such as football and baseball in the near future.

Gaming

My first love of my life was video games.  And being a child of the 70’s, I’m blessed to have been able to enjoy the classics like Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and Asteroids.  I’m also blessed to have seen the growth and evolution of the home consoles and the influence they had on society.  I’m excited to be able to bring to you reviews and commentary about video games from those very real experiences, discuss what I liked and didn’t like and everything in between.  So if games are your thing, then I hope you won’t be disappointed.

Music

They say that music is the soundtrack to your life.  For me, this rings very true.  I’ve been a music lover from since the time I could utter words out of my mouth.  I will listen to anything from Eagles to Kendrick Lamar and everything else in between. So, when it comes to music, if rap beefs or song breakdowns are your thing, then you’ve come to the right place as music content will be coming.

Animation/Anime

Whether you’re a Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny kind of person or if anime classics like Naruto and Dragon Ball Z are your sweet spots, you’ll eventually find it here.  Animation has played a huge role in my life and I look forward to giving you takes on things like the differences between the Voltron that aired on U.S. television during the 80’s and the actual source material from Japan, deep-dives into titles like Robotech, Science Ninja Team Gatchaman (Battle of the Planets) as well as discussions about the classics like Animaniacs, Looney Tunes, Scooby Doo and more.  If it’s animated or an anime, chances are, I’ll talk about it here.

Entertainment

Is the new Star Wars or Marvel movie worth the cost of admission?  Did that content creator really just say that on YouTube?  Find out here when I break down the latest movie releases on streaming or in the theatres (spoiler free, of course) as well as react to various takes by YouTubers.  And if you love radio segments, check back here soon for the next installment of the dramatization of the Ryan’s Roses segment called “The Flower Shop Report” and find out if another couple will stand the test of time, or will the roses reveal a spouse that is up to no good.
